Introduction
Distributed DLC Leveled Lists, or DDLL, is a script-based mod for Fallout 4 that dynamically distributes all the weapons from official DLC that the player currently has installed throughout the base game. Being script-based, DDLL has the benefit of not requiring the player to create or used merged patches, rather it injects items into appropriate forms and at appropriate levels at runtime. DDLL also has the benefit of not requiring specific DLCs or Creations - it works dynamically in the background, adapting to the player's currently loaded content.
Configuration Options
When loading DDLL for the first time, you will be presented with an in-game menu to tailor DDLL's behaviour to your liking:
Creation Club Item Distribution
By default, Creation Club items will distribute immediately, regardless of whether you've completed its respective quest. This setting is called Only distribute CreationClub items once their quest has been completed (OFF). If you would rather the items are only distributed when you complete their respective quests, you can toggle the option to Only distribute CreationClub items once their quest has been completed (ON). This means, for example, that the Pint-Sized Slasher's knife will only appear on NPCs and vendors after you complete the quest 'A Pint-Sized Problem'.
Allowed Item Tiers
Every DLC and Creation is assigned an Item Tier - this tier represents how believable the item is. The tiers are: - Standard - Items that are easy to believe are in the game - Wacky - Items that could exist in the game, at a stretch - Unhinged - Items from other games
When DDLL loads, you have the chance to select which tier you want to use, with Standard being the default. These tiers are cumulative, so if you were to select Unhinged, you'd get Unhinged, Wacky and Standard items. Take a look at Distributed Items below to see which Creation belongs to which tier.
Changing Settings
If you decide you want to change your settings, you can craft the DDLL Configuration aid item from a Chemistry Workbench under the Utilities section. Consuming the DDLL Configuration aid item will show the configuration menu. There are three important things to keep in mind when changing configurations:
- Changes will not take effect until you either re-run item distribution from the DDLL Configuration menu, or you save and reload.
- Changes will not affect already-distributed items. For example, changing from the Wacky item tier to Standard will not 'un-distribute' already distributed Creations - only Creations you subsequently load. The only way to un-distribute items is to uninstall DDLL, load your save, save it again, and then re-install DDLL.
- While you should never uninstall a mod mid-playthrough, uninstalling DDLL will not remove items you already have from your inventory - this is because DDLL items are added via script, and belong to their respective DLCs and Creations. Items distributed by DDLL will also remain in vendor, NPC and container inventories until the cell they are in reset.
