Bzalth's Workshop

Bzalth's Workshop

Introduction

Long ago, a great Dwemer engineer by the name Bzalth toiled away creating her own improved automatons in her secluded workshop.

Now it lays empty, awaiting its next resident. May that be you?

Bzalth's Workshop is a customizable player home with a twist - giving you the ability to forge your own Dwemer Automatons to accompany you throughout your travels in Skyrim!

The home is located to the North-West of Whiterun, and its map marker will be visible on your map as an undiscovered location. A short quest will start once you arrive at Bzalth's Workshop, and completing it will let you enter.

Features

  • Forge one of each Dwemer Automaton with a unique ability
  • A fully furnished living area, bedroom and display room with plenty of mannequins and weapon plaques
  • A dramatic atrium cavern with 6 planters to grow your own ingredients
  • Four empty rooms for you to furnish in one of 6 configurations; Chapel, Children's Bedroom, Forge, Guest Room, Tavern and Wizard's Study

Quests

Dwemer Automatons

The following are the automatons you can get as a result of Bzalth's Workshop. All can be followers except Bzalth's Bartender, which will remain exclusively in a Tavern Room should you chose to build one.

When not following the player, the automatons will patrol around Bzalth's Workshop.

Notes & Troubleshooting

Adoption & Marriage

  • Bzalth's Workshop does not support Adoption and Marriage out of the box as this would require direct edits to the base game's Adoption quest, which is outside the scope of the Creation. However it has been set up to work with the various Adoption mods that exist, such as Hearthfire multiple adoptions.

Key not Spawning

Mod Conflicts

If the key to Bzalth's Workshop doesn't spawn, you might have a mod conflict. I have created a patch called Bzalths Workshop - Location Patch that will fix this. Place it as far down your load order as you can and that should resolve the issue.

  • If the key still does not spawn after installing the patch, try walking up to the door of Bzalth's Workshop and then walk far away from the area, and then back. You might have to try a couple of times (Technical details: You need a Location Change event to fire from the Story Manager, and this should cause that to happen).
  • If you are on PC, you can give yourself the key by typing the following in the console (~):
    player.additem xx0F2624

Where xx is the load order number for Bzalth's Workshop.

Customizing Rooms

There are four empty rooms you can customise in Bzalth's Workshop - two across the bridge on your left upon entering Bzalth's Workshop, and two across the bridge on your right upon entering Bzalth's Workshop.

To customize an empty room: - Walk up to its doorway. - Look to the side - you'll see a Plaque labelled Furnishings. - Activate the plaque to see a list of rooms you have available. - Only one room of a type can be active at once. You cannot have two Wizard's Studies, for instance. - Each room costs 450 Gold. - Select a room from the list and it will instantly appear in the formerly empty room.

You can empty out a room again by using the Furnishings plaque. Please note: - It is highly recommended you remove any items you may have placed in the room before you empty it. - Any items that were on mannequins will automatically be moved to the chest that is by your bed in the master bedroom in order to ensure they are kept safe.
